HIGHER THAN HEAVEN ONE THE THE “GREATEST GOTH TRACKS OF ALL TIME”

The very well respected UK magazine “RECORD COLLECTOR” will in the next reccollectcouple of months be running its “TOP TWENTY ALL TIME GREATEST GOTH TRACKS”, featuring BFG’s “HIGHER THAN HEAVEN IS”. This places the band as one of the most important GOTH/INDUSTRIAL bands of the 80’s and is an indication of just how influential BFG became.

 

FIRST BFG INTERVIEW IN 15 YEARS

BFG agreed to do an interview for the Goth on line magazine Ectomag.com

 ATTICA SIGN DEAL WITH PUMP AUDIO

Don’t be surprised if over the coming year you settle down to watch the latest film or TV show and you hear Attica Artists leaping from the speakers.

BFG RECORDING NEW ALBUM                      

Despite recording setbacks we are at last pleased to say that BFG are now back in the studio recording their first album proper sincebfglogorust 1990’s BLUE.

The album was in doubt up until recently due to a serious road accident suffered by vocalist BJ Williams, however he is now fully recovered and looking ftshirtdesign08orward to joining the rest of the band in the studio. The album will be entitled “PULLING WINGS FROM BUTTERFLIES” and the first single to be taken off the album will be “I KNOW EVERYTHING”.

The album has taken shape with demos and basic tracks being laid down for the last couple of years in studios, and hotel rooms, from Indonesia, USA ,India, Abu Dhabi to the Canadian Rockies. Only time will tell if the airfare has been worth it 

 

BLANCO Y NEGRO ALBUM FEATURES BFG TRACK

Following on from the succsess of the compilation series “GUITARS AND MACHINES” on the BLANCO Y NEGRO westsky0302label in Spain, (WEA) the BFG track “WESTERN SKY” has been included on the forthcoming album.

Featuring in past volumes bands such as NEW ORDER and the CULT it will give the early BFG release a chance to reach a much wider audience and has been timed to coincide with the planned release of BFG first album in 16 years “ PULLING WINGS FROM BUTTERFLIES” 

 

MCKINNEY’S DEATH DISCO GIG

McKinney’s invertaion to play at Alan Mageis Death Disco brought out several members of the music fraternity both new and old. mckinneylogo02Various band members from the Kings Of Leion were seen checking out McKinney along with one of the orginal godfathers of punk.....BUZZCOCK main man Steve Diggle.

After a blazing set the band then travelled the red eye trip back up to Manchester to perform a live accoustic set for the BBC followed by interview the next morning...ROCK AND ROLL

 

 

 

 

 

MCKINNEY STORM MANCHESTERS IN THE CITY

The “In The City” bash held in Manchester, famous for “discovering” Coldplay, Oasis, The Darkness, was hit at weekend by the whirlwind that is McKinney. Blagging their way though into the main delegates area Zero, Marc and Danny then set about attracting the assembledmarccloselib crowd’s attention, Jumping up onto the main bar and shouting “YOU LOTS LISTEN TO THIS OR I START F*ŁKING THROWING THINGS” seemed to do just the job.

Playing three acoustic tracks off their debut album, McKinney made an immediate impression with the organisers of “In The City” and were asked to appear the following day on one of the main events.

Also, If you were in Manchester weekend of 18/19 Sept. you could not miss the 100 ft projection of the McKinney videos splashed across the side of one of the most famous Manchester landmarks, Industry delegates and Manchester’s night time crowd were treated to seeing the debut of McKinneys video for the track “Everyday”

Look out for the band when they hit the a town near you. NME's Rick Martin says "Not since Blondie hit their peak in '78 has there been a female fronted band worth caring about more ". Wise words indeed!

DANNY P JOINS MCKINNEY

Fresh from working with Gordon Raphael....the producer of the Strokes album “Is This It” McKinney are pleased to announce that Danny dannybw02Pease has joined the band on a full time basis. “ It just feels like Danny was the last piece in the jigsaw to make this thing really fly” said singer Marc Ash in a recent interview. McKinney are also joined at the same time by Rich Thorn on Bass replacing the previous incumbent who according to a band spokesman is busy living on another planet.
